Job hunter is reminded how much a single good deed can change someone’s day after running late to an interview and gets a ride from a kind stranger: ‘And I landed the job!’

A man was about to break down at the bus stop. The bus was running late and he was about to be late to a job interview. He had been job hunting for a while now and did not want to lose this opportunity just because the city transit was doing him dirty. He sat there, internally panicking, when a kind woman noticed his alertness. She asked if he was okay, and he told her everything and about how panicked he was. She was actually on her way to her car, so she offered him a ride. He says he doesn't usually accept rides from strangers, but he was having an emergency and she seemed very kind. So he accepted and they bonded the whole ride there. He made it to the interview on time, landed the job, and has not stopped thanking her. He even got to send her a thank you gift, even though he still only knows her as "Lisa from the bus stop." 

 

They lightly stay in touch, but the impact her kindness had on him will forever stay with him.

  • The job market is crazy right now, we all know that. So when you land an interview, you want to do everything in your power to land that job. That means showing up on time! So we totally understand that man's panic when he thought he was going to be late. We also love to remember that the world has kindness in it and humanity isn't all loss to capitalism and greed. Sometimes it just takes someone offering you a ride to remind you that it's not about living to work, it's about working to live.
